My Story

Hi lovelies, I’m Sarah!
I’m based in Juneau, Alaska, and living here has completely transformed the way I see the world—and how I paint it. Surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and a vibrant arts community, I discovered my artistic voice through the medium of oil painting. Inspired by my great-grandmother, who was also an oil painter, I picked up a brush with the simple thought: “If she could do it, so could I.”

What began as a curiosity quickly grew into a deep passion and a source of personal healing. Painting has become both a creative calling and a way to navigate life’s challenges. Through my work, I aim to capture the rugged beauty of Alaska while sharing the peace, wonder, and connection that painting has brought into my own life.

I started Wild Salmonberry as a way to connect with other artists and take a leap into the unknown. While stepping into new territory can be intimidating, I know many others—maybe even you—are on a similar journey. I hope you enjoy exploring my art, and I’m so grateful you stopped by!
